Floats, balloons, bands, some fancy cars, a school fight song, a lot of school spirit and a homecoming queen are the elements needed for the University of Arizona Homecoming parade. On Nov. 5, 1977, Diana Stockton received a kiss from then-UA President John P. Schaefer after he crowned her Homecoming Queen. A large crowd gathered along the parade route as it toured El Con Shopping Center and proceeded to the UA campus.
