More than 2,600 people showed up to tour the Tucson Police Department's new headquarters during an open house on Dec. 13, 1972. For 5-year-old Mark Wyckoff, the fun stuff was certainly not inside the building. It was the police helicopter that caught his attention, and he climbed aboard to take "control" of the aircraft.
