Yes, Stephanie, the baby will have medium brown feathers for 2 or 3 years, then turning dark brown, and the beak will gradually turn yellow, as the head will turn white. By the way this photo was taken w/ spotting scope and 5mp point-n-shoot. My long camera lens does a good job, but can't get nearly this close! Thanks guys, for the compliments!
Dennis, I just love this image--our national bird against the bluest of skies caring for her young one. The details in the birds and coloring are outstanding! It's unbelieveable that you were able to get this amazing capture with a point and shoot. It's obviously true that the talent, expertise and eye of the photographer are far greater than his/her equipment! Bravo, Dennis!
