Each year thousands of hikers, nature lovers, and bird watchers enjoy the solitude of Chiricahua National Monument’s pristine wilderness, located about 35 miles southeast of Willcox, Arizona. When it was originally set aside as a national monument, Chiricahua encompassed 11,000 acres of pinnacles, spires, columns and balanced rocks. Today, miles of maintained day-use trails provide an enjoyable close-up opportunity to experience this "wonderland of rocks”.
If you're up for a short walk from the parking lot, take the Massai Point Nature Trail, a loop that features a bird's-eye view of the Chiricahuas' distinctive rock formations, such as this one.
