Painter Manuel Ayon probably didn't refurbish miniature 1910 Buicks very often, but that's what he was doing on June 15, 1973. He was getting the half-sized cars ready for the Antique Car Ride at Old Tucson. The 13 cars came from an Eastern amusement park and apparently needed a new paint job. Soon, the spruced-up little autos would be rounding the 1,200-foot track 12 miles and a hundred years from town.
