Nearly 11,000 Rolling Stones fans would eventually get some satisfaction, but first they had to wait for hours in line outside the Tucson Community Center Arena. As early as 3 p.m. on July 21, 1978, the crowd jammed the arena entrance, eager to see Mick and his mates. Some fainted from the heat, some were injured by the crush, and more than a few shared a joint with friends. Originally priced at $10, the tickets were getting scalpers up to $75 apiece. Overall, police reported few incidents and six arrests. Read more about the Stones' concert and see more photos in Tales From the Morgue at go.azstarnet.com/morguetales.
