This is not a great photo, but submitting the 'desert' pic of Aravaipa the other day, and inspired by last night's deluge, I recalled I had this image. It's from the same Aravaipa trip last year. I mentioned the flooding, and there were signs on the trailhead about it. Most of the trail was obliterated and there was debris everywhere, the water volume must have been unbelievable. But this was the kicker - in this narrow stretch of the canyon, there are no such trees near the top, and to my mind at least, the only way that log got up there was from the water being that high when pushed through these narrows. Unless someone has a less exciting explanation, it still amazes me.
