I don't know the bird, but I do know that I love the reflections on the water.

Because of the shadow making the body look so black, it's a bit hard to tell. I would guess maybe a Brewer's Blackbird female, but no guarantees.

I know it`s hard to tell from this shot,because the body is in shadow,but looking at the other shots that I have of this bird,the body is actually a dark,grayish brown with a slight sheen to it.The wing tips and tail are darker.I think you`re probably right.Thanks so much for your help :)

FYI I have found the Stokes Field Guide to Birds; Western Region really helpful in that it has pics of both male and female (sometimes even juveniles) on the same page.
