Photo Rating:

'Golden Physonatae' by Rick Williams; not sure if this is also a form of P. arizonae but have seen both color variations on the same leaf. The metalflake color appears to be under the clear 'plastic' covering. They can fly a few feet but sometimes just let go of the leaf and fall.

Last year the bugguide specialists were speculating that the really mature Physonatae would look just like that, but until now we had no picyure of it. - May we post yours?

Happy to let you post it Margarethe ... I have another of a gold one right next to a 'cute' one but didn't post it here as it's not in direct sunlight; maybe of interest too?

Margarethe: if you think it's good enough, I'd be glad to contribute it to you for the bugguide. Not sure of their photo submission requirements and/or would it be easier to post if I go there myself?

I can post it for you, your copyright will show prominently. For the bugguide, I'd crop the photo somewhat more. If you (or CJ) have one that shows the two types together, that would be ideal. If there's no sunlight on them, the colors are usually good and true, just brighten them up in a photo editor - I can do that for you.
