"Gamble Oak", Zion Narrows in the dead of winter. Jan.'08. The ambient air temp was only 18 degrees F. There was no one else in the canyon that morning except for a man and his two teen sons from New Zealand. A frozen waterfall continued to tumble these ice-clumps from 40 to 50 feet above down the canyon wall to the Virgin River floor. This shot was taken at about 9 am. The light was exquisite. ...
