Yes, the internet IS insecure. If a firewall is the only security to offer, online fraud WILL get worse. A firewall addresses only part of the problem, and not even the worst part. Without encryption, anyone with minimal skills can sit anywhere in Sahuarita with a laptop and see all the passwords, email, etc that are being transmitted. This is fine for public access, where people who use it should know not to do sensitive work, but not for people's home connections.
I don't see anything in that document about security. Will the communications be encrypted? If not, passwords and other information could be transmitted in the clear for anyone to snag from the airwaves. If this will be a pay-service, how will access be prevented to those who have not paid? Is the complete design available for review?
Hey, I drove by there today, and they have at least started to move this beast away. At least it's loaded up behind a tractor and is a mile or so further down the road...
Congratulations on the new job!
Oops! Sorry out that. I've fixed it. Thanks for pointing that out!
Don't tell anyone, but it's really a horizontal pic (the butterfly was at a weird angle.) I just rotated it to make it look better... :-)
Merry Christmas, Mona!

I didn't make it (out playing with the grandkids...) but it looks like it was fun! Perhaps next year...
I'm glad they finally towd this away. I was getting tired of looking at it.

It's been way more than 48 hours, so just haul it off already...
