Doris Evans's profile
My interest in photography began when I got my first camera on my 12th birthday – a Kodak Duaflex which now sits on a shelf amidst a collection of old family cameras.
I moved from Wisconsin to Tucson in 1962. I taught elementary grades in TUSD, was the first Curator of Education at ASDM, taught in a tiny school in Big Bend National Park in Texas, and ended my career as Environmental Education Resource Teacher with TUSD at Cooper Environmental Science Campus in the Tucson Mts. My husband is retired from the National Park Service where he was an interpreter in a number of western parks. We live in the NW side of Tucson at the base of the Tucson Mountains which gives us great opportunities for wildlife photos right in our own yard and neighborhood.
Retirement is busy. I volunteer for a few organizations – mainly with the Tucson Audubon Society and help teach their naturalist training course. We also love to travel, hike, and of course, play with photography.
I thoroughly enjoy sharing photos on the gallery and learning from others as I look at those wonderful photos posted by all of you.

Beautiful background (or I guess it's foreground) to our interesting celestial event this eve.
I remember that rainbow. It was a doozy.
Very nice. The reflections sort of look like letters from an ancient language.
Sshhhh, don't tell anyone or the whole world will show up.
That floating feather in line with the bill makes a nice composition. Did you plant that?
